Whether it is a home or office, Jan Cooney from Relocation Consultants will take the hassle out of moving.
Anyone who has relocated a home or business will likely have realised the devil is in the detail. It is the small things like changing company letterheads and notifying banks, utility companies, subscriptions and suppliers, of an address change, which, if overlooked, can lead to a big headache in the future.
Relocation Consultants Ltd is a new company that takes the stress out of what is an otherwise exciting time for a family or business.
Relocation coordinator Jan Cooney, who comes from a background in team management and event coordination, says she is effectively a project manager for families and businesses that are relocating.
"I will take over the whole project and liaise with the clients to get everything running smoothly. I come in and plan, organise and manage the move."
She says often her clients do not realise the extent of the services she offers. "There are often a lot of things people over-look, like whether or not they need to lease new car parks or organise new signage if they move the business to a new building, and planning what will happen with the hired furniture and office equipment."
A countdown checklist is made weekly so Jan's clients know exactly what needs to be accomplished by both parties to ensure a smooth and efficient relocation.
She says people are very busy in this day and age so to have someone who knows what needs to be done and how best to go about it will make the experience more pleasant for everyone.
"It will save them a lot of running around a lot of time and a lot of headaches and disruptiveness to the business or the family.
"A family can enjoy moving to a new home and you haven't got the mother or someone collapsing at the other end - everyone says it is such hard work and very stressful and it can be very disruptive for the family and that goes for businesses as well."
Jan's services can be adjusted to suit the needs of each client. Some families choose to have the full unpacking service at the other end while they take the opportunity to have a few days away.
